As a Rev inhibitor, Proflavine works by targeting the high-affinity Rev binding site, the HIV-1 Rev response element.
In vivo studies:
The concentrations of Proflavine (20 mg/kg) in whole blood after intravenous injection decreased rapidly at the beginning and remained stable from around 30 min after dosing.
