The dmbpydbMe2 species (381 mg, 0.384 mmol) was refluxed with 3 M NaOH in 2-methoxyethanol (30 mL) for 5 h. After cooling to room temperature the white precipitate of dmbpydbNa2 was filtered and colle cted. (178 mg, 0.381 mmol, 99percent yield). (0011) 1H NMR (400 MHz, D2O) delta (ppm): 7.93 (d, 8.0Hz, 4H), 7.66 (d, J=8.0Hz, 4H), 7.47 (s, 2H), 7.33 (s, 2H) 2.25 (s, 6H).
