Tungsten(vi) Chloride is a dark blue or bluish-purple crystal which can be used for tungsten plating by vapor deposition, to prepare single crystal tungsten wire, conductive layer on glass surface and as olefin polymerization catalyst.
It can also be used in tungsten purification and organic synthesis, agriculture, chemical industry, petroleum catalysis, and smart glass industries.
