2-Chloro-4-fluorobenzoic acid(CAS:2252-51-9) is a chemical compound with the molecular formula CHClFO. It is a white solid that is soluble in water and organic solvents. 2-Chloro-4-fluorobenzoic acid has been shown to be an effective antitumour agent against cervical cancer cells, inhibiting the growth of these cells by disrupting their ability to produce DNA. This drug also has pharmacokinetic properties and can be used for the treatment of various cancers. The synthesis of 2-chloro-4-fluorobenzoic acid can be achieved by hydrogenation reduction of (2Z)-2-(chloromethyl)benzene or by electrochemical fluorination of 4-fluoroaniline with a proton source, such as ammonium hexafluorophosphate.
