Alfa Chemical Launches Low-Chloride TMPTGE (CAS 30499-70-8) For Electronic Potting
Sep 08, 2026
Alfa Chemical has launched a low-chloride grade of Trimethylolpropane Triglycidyl Ether (TMPTGE, CAS 30499-70-8) for electronic potting and encapsulation. Residual chloride is controlled below 50 ppm to reduce corrosion risk in sealed electronic assemblies.
Standard glycidyl ethers contain trace chloride from manufacturing. In many applications, this is not a concern. In electronic potting, however, chloride can migrate under electrical bias and accelerate corrosion at metal interfaces. For power modules, sensors, and automotive electronics, controlling chloride content is a reliability requirement.
The new grade retains the same trifunctional structure and EEW of 138–154 g/eq as the standard product. Purity remains ≥99% by GC. Each lot ships with a COA and SDS including chloride content data.
"Electronic potting formulators have been asking for a lower-chloride option for some time," said a company spokesperson at Alfa Chemical. "This grade addresses that request without changing the cured properties formulators rely on."
The low-chloride grade is available in 1 kg, 25 kg, and 200 kg drums. Stock items ship within 3–7 business days. Research samples are available for evaluation. For related products, visit the other material chemicals page.
