Used as cationic dye intermediate; Used for manufacturing cationic brilliant blue RL, cationic yellow 2RL; 6-methoxy-3-methylbenzothiazolhydrazone was prepared from it, and then cationic yellow GL was produced. 2-amino-6-methoxybenzothiazole is a class of intermediates used in the preparation of novel Schiff bases and 4-thiazolidone compounds. It is also used in the synthesis of 2-cyano-6-methoxybenzothiazole.
