Product Introduction
Small rods crystallized. The melting point is 309°C (325°C). Soluble in ethanol, it shows blue fluorescence, insoluble in boiling water.
Intermediate for dyes and plastic processing aids. Used in the production of optical brighteners, dye intermediates, etc.
It is prepared by oxidation of 1-methyl-4-acetylnaphthalene and potassium dichromate at 200-300℃ and about 4MPa for 18h. It can also be obtained by liquid phase oxidation of 1,4-dimethylnaphthalene using cobalt-manganese-bromine as a catalyst at 120°C and about 3kPa.
