Tris[3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]phosphine (CAS# 175136-62-6) is a useful research chemical, used in Staudinger reactions between dichlorophenyl azide derivatives and triarylphosphines for aza-ylide formation applicable to bioconjugation in living cells. When coordinated to ruthenium, increased catalytic activity has been observed in the etherification of propargylic alcohols, compared to non-fluorinated arylphosphines.
